| [en]There is a bit more information today about that statue J.K.Rowling signed in a hotel room in Edinburgh stating that she finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on January 11. The Scotsman reports today the statue is a bust of the Greek god Hermes. (A fun fact for Potter fans is that Hermes is of course the name of owl belonging to Percy Weasley.) The newspaper reports the statue is being kept hidden away, and there are no plans to make the room where Jo completed the final Harry Potter novel into any sort of shrine or tourist attraction.
"It was hotel property. We have many different antique artefacts within the hotel," said the spokeswoman. The bust was believed to be of the Greek god Hermes, not Emperor Hadrian as first thought."
"We can confirm JK Rowling did write some of the book at the Balmoral last month and did complete the book at that hotel."

بنا به نوشته روزنامه scotsman رولینگ متن زیر را در هتل Balmoral Hotel واقع در ادینبورگ اسکاتلند پشت یک مجسمه که به هرمس ( همانطور که میدانید هرمس جغد پرسی ویزلی است) خدای یونان قدیم تعلق دارد نوشته و امضا کرده است:
"جی کی رولینگ کتاب هری پاتر و قدیس های مرده وار را در این اتاق ( شماره 652) در تاریخ 11 ژانویه 2007 به پایان رساند"

سخنگوی این هتل اعلام کرد که هنوز تصمیم قطعی در مورد این اتاق گرفته نشده ولی این اتاق فعلا خالی نگه داشته میشود تا بعدا به عنوان یک مکان توریستی از آن استفاده شود. همچنین مجسمه نیز در مکان امنی نگهداری می شود.
نکته جالب توجه اینجاست که رولینگ کتاب اول را هم زمانی که در فقر بود در یک کافه در روبروی همین هتل به پایان رسانده بود
