JK Rowling is one of five women nominated for the NCH Scotland Women of Influence award. The four other women nominated include champion athlete and Olympic silver medalist Liz McColgan, Scottish Youth Theatre chief Mary McCluskey, Edinburgh International Book Festival director Catherine Lockerbie, and child safety advocate Christine Hallet. The Evening Times writes:
Lord Advocate Eilish Angiolini, a former winner of the title, said: "These awards mark the significant contribution women from diverse communities make to our national life. In our mothers' and grandmothers' time women received very little recognition. Today, it is a very different story. The awards also highlight the vital work NCH does to support Scotland's children and young people and raise an incredible amount of money to support that work.
The awards will be held in Glasgow on Sunday. Congratulations, Jo!

[fa]جي كي رولينگ، نويسنده سري كتابهاي هري پاتر در بخش جايزه تاثيرگزارترين زنان اسكاتلند از NCH، نامزد دريافت بهترين جايزه شد.
جي كي رولينگ يكي از پنج نامزدي است كه در بخش " اشخاصي كه براي بهبودي راه و رسم زندگي و تعليم و تربيت كودكان سخت تلاش ميكنند " نامزد شده است.
نفر برنده از اين پنج نامزد روز شنبه همين هفته 11 مارس 2007 در گلاسگو اسكاتلند معرفي خواهد شد.
برنده سابق اين عنوان گفته است : اين جايزه ها برترين زنها در تمامي زمينه ها اجتماعي و طيف هاي وسيع در سطح ملي را به ما معرفي ميكند.در زمان مادران و مادربزرگ هايمان معرفي افراد اين چنيني خيلي سخت بود، ولي امروزه اين يك قضيه متفاوت با زمانهاي قديم است.
